Misconceptions about the cause of baldness and hair loss can sometimes lead to confusion. It is therefore important that every man understands the causes of hair loss before he can make the right choice when it comes to effective and appropriate treatment.
To help men who suffer from hair loss, here is an explanation of the main causes of hair loss. For its reliable cure you can use original Rogaine foam.
Most common cause of male hair loss and baldness
In men, hair starts to thin a little after puberty. This worsens as the man gets older. About 20% of all men in their twenties suffer from (incipient) hair loss. About 40% of all men in their 40s suffer from it and 50% of men in their 50s.
What are the main reasons?
The three main factors that determine male hair loss are: hereditary factors (genes), hormones and age.
Male pattern baldness is inherited from one of the parents. However, it is not entirely clear how the genes of hair loss are passed on. For example, one of the two brothers may suffer from hair loss while the other has a full head of hair.
Thus, both women and men can carry the genes that cause hair loss and still not suffer from hair loss. The predisposition for hereditary hair loss is greater on the mother’s side than on the father’s side.
It is important to note that these genes in themselves are not responsible for hair loss; the influence of hormones and the passage of time allow the genes to manifest.
For its treatment you can use Rogaine India.
Dihydrotestosterone, or DHT, is a testosterone-related hormone responsible for “triggering” hair loss. Part of the testosterone is converted into DHT by the enzyme 5-alpha reductase. When hair follicles are exposed to DHT, they begin to shrink. As a result, the hair growing out of these hair follicles becomes thinner and shorter. Over time, hair growth from these hair follicles even stops completely.
Usually men only notice this form of hair loss when more than half of all hair follicles on a part of their head have been exposed to DHT and its consequences (visible hair loss).
It takes a while before DHT has an effect on the hair follicles. The consequences of this are only visible after a fairly long period of time.
The amount of DHT in the blood, genes and age all play a role in the severity of hair loss. Men with severe hair loss have already lost a lot of their hair before their thirties. Others don’t notice it until they’re in their late 30s or 40s.
Very often we see that men who suffer from hair loss have periods with much and little hair loss and periods completely without hair loss.
Baldness in men
As mentioned before, the classic male pattern baldness is a process that will happen to almost everyone. Our doctors do make a distinction between early (before the age of thirtieth) and late (from about the age of fifty) androgenetic alopecia.
One characteristic of this form of baldness is that the regular hairs are increasingly replaced by downy hair.
