Superbowl Betting- Formats to Choose From

Perhaps, you have finally had your arm twisted into betting on this year’s Super Bowl game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens, but you maybe you have not kept up with football like you normally would have. As a result, you might find that you are uncertain of who to pick to win the game, but the good news is that you do not have to limit yourself to picking the winner of the game. You will also have the ability to bet on several aspects of the big game on Sunday.

The first thing you can be on is, of course, the winner of the Super Bowl, and you can bet on a straight-up win, or you can bet on the spread. The spread for Sunday’s game has the 49ers set as four-point favorites.

Another betting option you have is to predict how many points the two teams will combine to score. The over and under line is currently set at 47 ½ points. If you think the teams will combine to score 47 or fewer points, you can bet on that. If you think the teams will combine for 48 or more points, you can also place a bet on that. Both offer a line of -110, which means a $110 bet could make you $100 richer at the end of the evening- if you win, of course.

However, there is one other form of betting, and many people are not all that familiar with it. This form of betting is known as proposition, or prop, betting, and it involves making a prediction based upon a specific scenario. There are prop bets based on both individual achievements, such as a number of tackles as well as team, such as the number of points the given team will score in a particular half. The cool thing about prop bets is that, as you can likely already see, you do not really need to know that much about the teams as anything can happen in a football game played by professionals.
