Google Releases Pixel Chrome Book

Google has become the most frequently used search engine over the last several years. Without a doubt, they did an excellent job of conquering the modern search engine market. When the other search engines were focusing on fancy logos, designs and having a page caked with news stories, Google opted to go with a far simpler design, and they never swayed away from it. You never see anything but the search bar, Google’s logo and tabs across the top of the screen that allow you to select various browsing categories, such as web, images or videos.

Due to their success with their search engine, the company quickly found themselves partnering up with cell phone companies and providers to create the Android operating system. To this day, the Android is also a leader in the cell phone world. Its primary competitor is the Apple operating software, but this is only offered on iPhones, which substantially lowers the number of potential sales. With that being said, many still say that Android offers more bang for your buck than Apple does.

Google has also backed a chrome book, which featured their operating system and their browser, Google Chrome. However, until now, Google never actually manufactured their own chrome book. Today, Google announced that they have finally released the Google Pixel, which will be their own portable computer with the Chrome Book concept.

The Pixel is supposed to compete, not surprisingly, with the Macbook Air. It will sell for a very similar price. It does weigh about one pound more than the Macbook Air, but it also has a lot of additional features that Apple does not have to offer. For one, this will be the highest definition screen to ever be featured on any type of portable computer. Secondly, it will allow you to store up to 1 terabyte of data via the LTE service offered by Verizon. Resources indicate that this storage option would ordinarily cost $600 per year, but those who purchase the LTE version of the new Pixel will get the service for three years.

This may have been one of the smartest marketing moves Google has ever made. Now that Google has hit their record prices in the stock market, it is definitely time for them to stop relying on other companies to produce Chrome Books under their name. Google’s stock prices will likely continue climbing.
