The crisis on waste affects everyone. By cutting back on what you discard, you can reduce your personal footprint. Here’s how.

Use refillable bottles

Instead of purchasing plastic bottles that are single use, go with refillable bottles and a water filter, providing a sustainable option that can help you save money instead of having to buy multiple bottled waters to get through the day.

Bring an eco bag

Whenever you go grocery shopping near your Hudson Place Residences condo, try to remember to always bring an eco bag with you. Plastic bags are flimsy and could tear with the amount of groceries it holds. Also, get fresh produce rather than those with shrink-wrapped plastic packaging. It also reduces wastes that’s being thrown out to the sea affecting our aquatic life.

Buy products in bulk

Think of buying what you need in bulk and then put them inside reusable containers to store them. Buying in bulk is often cheaper compared to buying them one by one. You will not have to deal with the packaging waste that comes with individually wrapped products, since bulk items give you one packaging of the product and you can dispose of it easily, or choose to recycle.

Avoid single use plastics

Try to avoid using plastic plates, plastic utensils, straws and more as they can affect aquatic life significantly and clog landfills. Simplify your living by buying reusable utensils or stainless steel spoons, forks and straws along with reusable containers.

Plan meals ahead

Meal Planning can simplify your trips to the grocery store and support a sustainable diet. Doing so can help you save time and money as you know what you will be getting there and won’t have to spend time deciding on what you need while shopping, making for an efficient and easy trip. It also ensures that all you buy has a purpose at home and will all be used up as ingredients.
