Traveling with small kids is not an easy task, let alone moving to a new home like the Promenade Peak. You can, however, reduce the stress of moving for them and for you by keeping these five smart tips in mind.
Pack a Small Go Bag
Give your child a small bag he or she can carry around at all times. The bag may contain personal items that they hold dear, such as a favorite toy or a stuffed doll, or a bear, for example. This will serve to anchor them when they start going to a strange new place.
Plan Pit Stops
Frequent pit stops are key to giving your kids what they need before arriving at the new house. Don’t rush the trip or sacrifice convenience for speed, or else you’ll experience something you won’t like. Keep them happy by stopping to relieve themselves or just to eat a meal at a fast food restaurant.
Secure Medicine or Special Items
For those who need a special medicine, keep the item separate and within easy reach. Also, create a small first aid kit and put it in your car’s glove compartment.
Have Snacks and Drinks Handy
There might be times when long stretches of driving are unavoidable. In these cases, you’ll do well to keep your kid’s hunger in check. Pack a healthy snack and a bottle of juice or water, and use them when necessary. In addition, you can have their tablet on hand in case you need them entertained.
Use a Navigational App to Arrive Sooner
Reduce unnecessary travel time by having a navigational app handy while driving. Most modern cars will have them in the electronic dashboard. If you don’t have one, you can use your smartphone and a cellular network in a pinch. Map the straightest route, place several pit stops, and you’ll be good to go.
