Earlier this week SiriusXM shock jock Howard Stern offered to get involved with the Hulk Hogan sex tape fiasco. More specifically, he told Bubba the Love Sponge that he could mediate some sort of resolution with Hogan in order to get him to drop a lawsuit the former WWE/WCW champion has filed against Bubba and ex wife Heather Clem. So far, Hogan’s side has rebuffed Stern’s offer and will apparently let the legal process play out.
Stern offered to have ‘The Hulkster’ and Bubba on his SiriusXM show and mediate some sort of reunion. Stern is of the opinion that Hogan had to know about Bubba’s taping him having sex with Clem. According to Hogan’s lawyer David Houston, no dice:
“Absolutely not. It’s not going to happen. I appreciate Howard Stern’s offer. I know it has entertainment value, but this isn’t entertainment. We’re dealing with some drastic consequences in my client’s life.”
For the first time, however, Houston said that a settlement is not out of the question:
“We appreciate Howard Sterns’ recommendation and insight, and certainly resolution is never anything to be avoided if a settlement is possible. However, under the current situation, we have a client who has been damaged, and as such, we have to pursue our legal remedies until we arrive at a point where we truly understand the actions of all players.”
“Once that happens, the idea of resolution is never off the table.”
On his radio show Stern suggested that ‘everyone in Florida’ knows that Bubba tapes everything and used that as the punch line of a joke:
“Everyone down in Florida knew Bubba tapes everything. I’ve had friends who’ve gone to Bubba’s house, and they go, ‘Don’t go to Bubba’s house.’ You know how many times Bubba has invited me to his house? And I’m like, ‘Yeah, this is going to be the Howard Stern masturbation tape.”
Stern then cracked back at the quality of Bubba’s video equipment:
“And Bubba, one more thing: Please, please, please, please, please get better cameras in your house. The video is in black and white. It looks like a bank robbery.”
Bubba claims that the shoddy video quality alone underscores the fact that he’s not taping guests for prurient reasons:
“It was not made to do what they’re insinuating it was made to do.”
With allegations that more Hulk Hogan sex videos exist–along with more videos of Bubba’s ex wife Heather Clem–this story is likely to get a lot stranger.
